As a choreographer-director, Alyssa has dived into the intricacies of multiplicity within an individual's experience. They are invested in exploring club/street dance culture and create works within an intersection point that includes physical theatre and contemporary dance frameworks. Alyssa is interested in nurturing the expansion of an individual's expression and intimacy within performance /collaboration.
Alyssa’s work has received support from The Dance Centre, What Lab, Co. ERASGA, and The Canada Council for the Arts. In 2023, their solo work "Vibrate" earned an honorary mention from the Louise Bentall Biennial Award for Emerging British Columbia Choreographers and was performed at Dancing on the Edge. For the 2023/2024 season, Alyssa is excited to expand their collaborative creations across Canada and perform "Vibrate" internationally. They are a continually expanding human and grateful for the opportunity to facilitate human connection through various dance contexts.
